Summer fun is here! Barbeques and camping, swimming pools and boating…you name it, we have it in right here in Gwinnett. In the spirit of summer fun, our friends, family and some of you accent gwinnett magazine readers enjoyed a picnic on the grounds during the Tour De Georgia Bicycle Race. It was so exciting! We stood along Main Street in Buford at our new location and cheered for the cyclists as they whizzed by. We enjoyed some barbeque, music and a whole lot of fun!

So many more wonderful opportunities are coming to Gwinnett as we continue to grow in population. The very growth that affords us the many rich and cultural experiences we so enjoy is also what prompts us to address the importance of keeping our community a clean, safe and a pleasurable place to live. In this issue we’ve highlighted Gwinnett’s own Quality Of Life Task Force, a department of our Law Enforcement that’s hard at work helping to keep Gwinnett great. We hope you find the article informative and inspirational as you learn about the many different facets of the Task Force and even the things you can to do to contribute to the safety and well being of our community as well as your own family.

Also, in this issue you’ll find a first hand account of what it’s like to experience Citizen’s Police Academy offered by the Duluth Police Department and COPS unit. The Academy experience is an opportunity open to citizens for the sole purpose of gaining better insight into the world of law enforcement. Having done a similar training myself through Leadership Gwinnett, I can testify; it’ll be a wild ride you’d find both thrilling and eye opening!

On another note, for those of you looking to give your business a refreshing boost, read our article on Tropical Business. It could be just the new direction you’ve been looking for.
